1000 – 1100 N Harding Block Club was founded by Alees Edwards.

Alees Edwards is a community organizer that has over 10 years of experience meeting the needs in the under served community. She is currently the Block Club President for the 1000 & 1100 N Harding blocks in the West Humboldt Park community.  Her extensive work in the community has stretched across her professional career as well as her personal life. Alees uses faith-based principles as a foundation to implement anti-violence strategies for community safety, minister to those that are experiencing homelessness, reaching out to those with a previous record and/or have been incarcerated, and providing resources and meeting the needs in marginalized communities. Her mission is to facilitate the process of creating whole individuals, financially thriving communities, and healthy strong family units.

Alma Alvarez Vice President Of 1000 – 1100 N Harding Block Club.

Alma Alvarez works as ESL instructor at a nonprofit organization Erie Neighborhood Housing, working with the Hispanic community for the last 7 years. Alma Alvarez has a bachelors degree in justice studies and minor in social justice.She Is proud of her Mexican heritage  and has been living in Chicago for the last 29 years. Mrs.Alvarez an enthusiastic, decisive, woman of faith is a supportive wife and also a mother of 5. She is dedicated to her community and has a love for helping those in need.
